African Energy Startups Can Win €13K in New Program

Six African entrepreneurs with renewable energy solutions will receive serious support to launch businesses that could power their communities sustainably.

The RAISEAfrica program just opened applications for 2026, inviting young innovators aged 18 to 35 to compete for funding, expert mentorship, and connections with major energy investors. Each selected participant receives €3,000 upfront, with one winner taking home up to €10,000 through the Young Talent of the Year Award.

This isn't just money and a handshake. Participants work with coaches from major organizations like the European Investment Bank, Enel Green Power, and EY Foundation to refine their business models and prepare for real investors.

The program specifically targets solutions addressing Africa's unique energy challenges. Whether designing affordable solar systems for rural villages or creating innovative wind power technology, applicants must show how their ideas scale across African markets.

Applications close May 17, 2026. Evaluators will look at five key factors: how much impact the solution creates, its innovation level, business model strength, scalability potential, and the founder's commitment to seeing it through.
