SmartRay just unveiled JOSY, a fully automated weld inspection system that catches defects with perfect accuracy. The German tech company is demonstrating the breakthrough at a European industrial innovation hub in Stuttgart, where manufacturers can see it in action.

Instead of workers manually programming inspection routes, the AI reads CAD files and figures out exactly where to look for problems. SmartRay partnered with Wandelbots and Grid Dynamics to create the software powering JOSY. Together, they built a system that helps automotive manufacturers reduce scrap, speed up production, and maintain quality standards without hiring additional inspectors.
