All 82 Kidnapped Worshippers Rescued in Kaduna, Nigeria

When armed kidnappers stormed a church service in Kurmin Wali village and abducted 82 worshippers, fear gripped Kaduna State. But this week, that fear turned to celebration as every single victim returned home safely.

The mass abduction happened in Kajuru Local Government Area, targeting Christian worshippers during a service. For days, families waited anxiously while security agencies worked to locate and rescue their loved ones.

Rev. Caleb Ma'aji, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Kaduna State, spoke at a reception welcoming the rescued victims home at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House. He described the ordeal as a test that everyone passed.

"Many people who never witnessed this kind of situation believed we might not succeed," Rev. Ma'aji said. "But because we prayed and took the necessary steps, we have succeeded and put the enemy to shame."

The cleric recalled visiting worried community members earlier in the week, promising them their family members would return. His faith wasn't misplaced.

The rescue represents a coordinated effort between the Kaduna State Government and security agencies. Gov. Sani's administration mobilized resources and personnel to bring every person home safely.

In regions where kidnappings have become tragically common, a 100% rescue rate stands out as extraordinary. Not some of the victims returned home. All of them did.

Rev. Ma'aji emphasized that this success strengthens the bond between religious communities and government authorities. "Because of what you have done and what God has used you to do, we will always stand with you," he told officials at the reception.

The rescue has energized public confidence in security efforts across the state. Religious and community leaders are pointing to it as proof that coordinated action and determination can overcome even the most frightening threats.
