Apple Unveils New Parental Controls for Kids' Digital Safety

Parents can also manage who their children communicate with through Messages, FaceTime, and Phone from the start. The Communication Safety feature, which already blurs nudity when detected, now also blocks gore and violent content in shared images and videos.

Time Allowances give families more flexibility to set boundaries around app categories like Entertainment, Games, and Social Media. Apple provides age-appropriate guidance based on expert research as a starting point, though parents can adjust settings based on what works best for their family.

A new Schedules feature lets parents control which apps kids can access at different times throughout the day and week. This helps children stay focused during important times like school hours.

The redesigned Screen Time gives parents an easy overview of their children's device usage patterns at a glance.
