Arkansas Rescue Teams Save 4 After Creek Strands Vehicle

When your vehicle gets stuck in a remote creek miles from cell service, every hour feels like an eternity. Four people learned this the hard way early Saturday morning in north Conway County, Arkansas, but their story has a happy ending thanks to quick-thinking rescuers.

The group's truck became stranded in a creek off Austin Road late Friday night. With no phone service and darkness all around, they made the tough choice to spend the night in their vehicle rather than risk getting lost in unfamiliar terrain.

As soon as daylight broke, they hiked out to find a signal and called for help around 5:30 a.m. The Conway County Sheriff's Office immediately mobilized multiple teams for the rescue operation.

Conway County OEM Search & Rescue arrived first on scene, quickly locating the stuck vehicle in the creek. District 7 firefighters from the Conway County Fire Department joined shortly after, bringing additional equipment and medical support.

Working together, the teams freed the truck from the creek and helped all four people reach safety. Fire department EMTs checked everyone at the scene for injuries or exposure, but thankfully no one needed additional medical care after their overnight ordeal.

The Bright Side

This rescue shows what happens when emergency services train together and respond as one unit. The sheriff's office, search and rescue teams, and firefighters coordinated seamlessly, turning what could have been a dangerous situation into a textbook rescue operation.

The entire mission wrapped up in less than three hours. All units cleared the scene shortly before 8 a.m. and returned to service, ready to help the next person in need.
