Asia's Giving Will Hit $1.5 Trillion in Next Decade

The Commission on Asian Philanthropy released these projections at Hong Kong's PBC Forum 2026, a gathering that brought together 2,000 leaders from nonprofits, governments, and businesses. This marks the forum's 10th anniversary, celebrating a decade of connecting changemakers across continents.

Hong Kong stands out as a unique case in the region. Corporate contributions make up the largest share of charitable spending in the city, differing from many of its Asian neighbors where individual giving often dominates.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust alone contributed 1.8 percent of the city's entire GDP in the 2024-25 financial year. That's an extraordinary amount for a single organization to invest back into community welfare.
