Barnsley Striker Scores Stunning 60-Yard Wondergoal

Reyes Cleary was walking back to defend when he realized his 60-yard shot had actually gone in.

The Barnsley striker made headlines in October after scoring one of the season's most spectacular goals against Bradford City. He spotted the opposing goalkeeper standing far off his line and decided to take a chance from behind the halfway line.

"A lot of people asked why I even shot," Cleary tells reporters. "I took a quick scan and didn't see much on, then noticed the goalkeeper was quite far off his line."

Cleary had confidence in his long-range ability from practicing diagonal passes in training. He figured if he could launch accurate passes across the field, why not try for goal?

The moment he struck the ball, though, doubt crept in. "As soon as I hit it, I honestly thought it was going way over," he admits.
