Barrie Golf Tournament Raises $1,940 for Pregnancy Loss

When 33 golfers gathered at North Swing Golf Lounge in Barrie this March, they swung their virtual clubs for something bigger than birdies.

The second annual Bridget's Bunnies Golf Simulator Tournament raised $1,940 to support families experiencing pregnancy or infant loss across the province. Founder Theresa Morrison called the event "a big swing for us, something different" that gave the community a fresh way to support grieving families.

The indoor tournament offered a creative alternative to traditional fundraising, bringing together golfers and spectators on March 7, 2026. Four local sponsors backed the event, including Mortgages with Geri, Good Wellness, Barrie Nissan, and real estate broker Kyla Vavala.

Every dollar raised goes directly to Bridget's Bunnies Comfort Kit program, which provides tangible support to people navigating one of life's most painful experiences. Since 2018, the foundation has become a trusted resource in the community, creating spaces where families can connect and heal together.

What started as a single fundraising idea has grown into multiple annual events that keep the conversation around pregnancy loss open and supportive. The foundation's flagship Bridget's Run happens every October at Centennial Beach Park, and now the winter golf tournament gives supporters another chance to make a difference.
