Bath Scores 6 Tries to Beat Exeter in 11-Try Thriller

Bath rugby club turned heartbreak into triumph Friday night, defeating Exeter Chiefs 40-34 in a spectacular match that had fans on their feet from start to finish.

The game was more than just another early season matchup. Just three months ago, Exeter knocked Bath out of the playoffs in the semi-finals, ending their championship dreams.

This time, Bath came ready to flip the script. Cameron Redpath, Bernard van der Linde, Dan du Preez, and Finn Russell all crossed the try line in the first half alone, giving Bath a commanding 26-10 lead and securing a bonus point before halftime.

But Exeter refused to roll over. The visitors roared back in the second half with brilliant tries from Josh Iosefa-Scott and two spectacular scores from Immanuel Feyi-Waboso that suddenly made it anyone's game.

The momentum shifted again when Exeter's Stephen Varney received a yellow card for a deliberate knock-on, resulting in a penalty try for Bath. Ted Hill added one final try to seal the victory for the home side.

The Bright Side

This match shows exactly what sports can be when teams choose courage over caution. Eleven tries in one game means both sides prioritized exciting, attacking rugby over playing it safe.

Bath now sits at two wins in two matches to start their new season, proving their playoff run last year wasn't a fluke. They're building something special while playing the kind of entertaining rugby that reminds fans why they fell in love with the sport.

Even in defeat, Exeter earned two bonus points for their efforts and showed the fighting spirit that makes rivalry games so memorable. When teams leave everything on the field, everybody wins including the fans who get to witness pure athletic excellence.

The victory gives Bath confidence and momentum as they continue their redemption tour, one thrilling match at a time.
