Beijing Artist Wears Balloon Dinosaurs for Earth Day

A costume made of inflatable dinosaurs might seem like an unusual way to celebrate the Earth, but Kong Ning has never been one for ordinary.

The Beijing-based artist took to the streets Wednesday wearing her latest creation: a whimsical outfit crafted from balloon dinosaurs, crowned with a headset of fresh greenery and a green sphere. Passersby stopped and stared as she moved through a central district, her playful appearance carrying a deeper environmental message.

Kong titled the installation "Journey through Peace." She describes it as an invitation for the Earth itself to dream and find a moment of rest.

"It offers a space to recover," she explained. The costume symbolizes the energy our planet needs to sustain human life, a reminder that even the Earth deserves care and restoration.

This isn't Kong's first time using wearable art to make a statement. For more than ten years, she has staged similar performances every Earth Day, transforming her body into a moving art piece that highlights environmental concerns.
