Bengaluru Park Gets 25-Meter Tower Thanks to $600K Grant

Visitors to one of Bengaluru's most beloved green spaces will soon experience wildlife from an entirely new perspective.

Bannerghatta Biological Park is building a 25-meter-high observation tower that will give the public stunning elevated views of the park's natural habitats. Construction starts next month, with the tower expected to welcome its first visitors by the end of the year.

The project became reality on Tuesday when Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies signed a partnership agreement with the park. The foundation committed ₹5 crore (approximately $600,000 USD) to make the tower a reality.

The eight-story structure will offer visitors a unique vantage point to observe animals, birds, and the park's diverse ecosystems without disturbing wildlife below. For many city dwellers, especially children, it will provide their first chance to see nature from a canopy-level perspective.

Bannerghatta Biological Park sits on the southern edge of Bengaluru, a city of over 12 million people that's rapidly expanding. The park serves as a crucial green lung for the metropolitan area, protecting wildlife habitat while offering residents a connection to nature.
