Bengaluru Triples Young Founders on India's U30 List

India's startup scene just got a major youth boost, and one city is leading the charge in spectacular fashion.

Bengaluru tripled its representation on the Avendus Wealth-Hurun India U30 List 2026, jumping from just seven young founders last year to 21 this year. The southern tech hub now claims 18 of the startups featured on the prestigious list, more than any other Indian city.

Karnataka Minister Priyanka Kharge celebrated the achievement on social media, pointing to a fundamental transformation in how India builds companies. The new generation of entrepreneurs is younger than ever and increasingly focused on cutting-edge technology rather than consumer apps.

The shift goes deeper than numbers. These young founders are tackling harder problems in artificial intelligence, space technology, cybersecurity, and advanced manufacturing. This wave of DeepTech and HardTech startups requires more expertise, longer development cycles, and bigger ambitions than the consumer-focused companies that dominated previous years.
