Beyoncé Grants $50K to Youth Nonprofit Reaching 50K Lives
Beyoncé's BeyGood foundation just gave $50,000 to In a Perfect World, a youth nonprofit that's already impacted 50,000 young people across eight countries. The grant arrives as schools face budget cuts, letting the organization expand its leadership programs to hundreds more students who need support.
When schools cut after-school and creative programs, a $50,000 grant can change everything for the young people who need it most.
Beyoncé's BeyGood foundation awarded that sum to In a Perfect World, a nonprofit focused on youth education and leadership. The organization has already supported 35 school projects across eight countries and worked in over 500 classrooms in high-poverty areas.
Founded by Manuela Testolini, In a Perfect World teaches young people to lead and participate in civic life through two main programs: Youth Ambassadors and REACH. The approach focuses on giving students real responsibility, not just lessons.
The numbers tell a powerful story. The nonprofit has logged 20,000 hours of youth-led service and touched 50,000 lives worldwide. One program takes young leaders from the United States to Central America to build schools alongside indigenous communities.
"How do they take what they're doing across borders? How do they help other young people find their voice and have their place in the world?" Testolini said about her students' impact.
The Ripple Effect
The timing makes this grant especially meaningful. Schools and community programs across the country are facing tighter budgets, cutting the exact programs that help young people grow into leaders.
"This very generous grant is going to allow us to expand programming to hundreds more kids who need our support," Testolini said. "Between all of the cuts to education, cuts to after-school programming, creative programming, we are so needed right now."
Since launching in 2013, BeyGood has focused on three areas: education, entrepreneurship, and community response. The foundation's broader mission centers on economic equity, helping people access opportunities to build better futures.
Recent BeyGood initiatives include $100,000 to Texas Southern University's Ocean of Soul Marching Band and $120,000 in grants to Atlanta small businesses. The foundation has also supported relief efforts for Los Angeles wildfires and Florida hurricanes.
"We see the good work you're doing, and we know that you will continue to do it," said Allana Barefield, BeyGood's digital editorial content manager, in a video shared on Instagram.
The grant won't solve every funding challenge, but it gives one organization room to reach hundreds more young people ready to lead.
