Bradenton Bald Eagle Saved by Quick-Thinking Resident

A struggling bald eagle got a second chance at flight after a sharp-eyed resident spotted trouble and called for help in Bradenton, Florida.

The young eagle, estimated to be around 4 or 5 years old, was found near 8th Street West and Manatee Avenue on Monday. The good Samaritan who spotted the bird noticed something was wrong when it struggled to get airborne.

Bradenton police officers responded quickly to the call. They carefully secured the distressed eagle and placed it safely inside a patrol car, turning their vehicle into an impromptu rescue transport.

Wildlife experts from the Wildlife, Inc. Education & Rehabilitation Center soon arrived on scene. The team took over care of the eagle and rushed it to an emergency veterinarian for treatment.
