Brewers Fan Redeems 12-Year-Old World Series Ticket
A Milwaukee Brewers fan who bought a $1,000 "Timeless Ticket" in 2014 finally cashed it in for Game 1 of the World Series. After fan complaints about seating, the team made an even better offer.
Nate Holzman waited 12 years to use a special ticket, and his patience just paid off in the best possible way.
The lifelong Brewers fan from Oak Creek, now living in Los Angeles, was one of 1,000 people who bought a "Timeless Ticket" back in 2014. For $1,000, the embossed ticket guaranteed him a seat at any future Brewers game of his choice.
Holzman chose wisely. After watching Game 3 of the National League Championship Series in LA, he decided to redeem his ticket for Game 1 of the World Series between the Brewers and Rays.
"The Brewers are going to the World Series, and I'm going to the World Series!" Holzman said. "Doesn't get any better than that!"
The timing made the moment even more special. Holzman recently became a father, and his daughter is now the same age he was when the Brewers last made it to the World Series in 1982.

"Am I going to need to maybe transfer this ticket to my daughter's name because I die before the Brewers make it to the World Series?" he joked. "That seriously did cross my mind multiple times, but luckily I don't have to worry about that anymore."
Sunny's Take
What happened next shows how organizations can turn problems into wins. When some Timeless Ticket holders complained about their seat locations, the Brewers listened and came up with a solution that exceeded expectations.
The team announced that all ticket holders who applied before the deadline could keep their World Series seats for this year AND retain their Timeless Ticket for another game in any future season. They essentially doubled the value of the original purchase.
"We did not live up to the spirit of the program," said the Brewers president of business operations. "We are happy to say that all of these fans who applied prior to the deadline will be contacted with a positive update."
Holzman also got to purchase three additional seats at face value so his parents and a friend could join him. For a new dad watching his team compete for their first championship, sharing the moment with family made the 12-year wait worthwhile.
Sometimes the best things really do come to those who wait, especially when organizations choose to do right by their most loyal fans.
