Brian White Scores 100th MLS Goal in Vancouver's Big Win

Brian White made soccer history Wednesday night, becoming only the 17th player ever to reach 100 goals in Major League Soccer. The 30-year-old striker hit the milestone with a perfectly timed header in Vancouver's dominant 4-1 win over San Diego.

The goal wasn't just a personal triumph. White's achievement helped push the Whitecaps to a four-point lead atop the Western Conference standings, putting them in prime position for the playoffs.

White has been a cornerstone for Vancouver since joining the team in 2021. In just five seasons, he's racked up 98 goals across all competitions for the Whitecaps, proving his value game after game.

Wednesday's match showcased the team's depth beyond their star striker. Aleksa Cvetković scored his first MLS goal in just his fourth start since joining in August, while Ryan Gauld added both a goal and an assist with a spectacular diving header.

The win also set a franchise record. Vancouver's 67th goal of the season marked the most the Whitecaps have ever scored during an MLS regular season, showing this isn't just about one player but a team firing on all cylinders.

Why This Inspires

White's journey to 100 goals represents years of consistency and dedication. Reaching this milestone at 30 years old proves that patience and steady improvement can lead to elite achievements, even when the spotlight isn't always shining your way.

His success has lifted an entire franchise. The Whitecaps are having their best offensive season in club history, creating excitement for fans who've watched their team transform into Western Conference leaders.

The timing couldn't be better as Vancouver heads into the playoffs with momentum, confidence, and a striker who knows how to deliver when it matters most.
