Bride Surprises Groom with Dogs as Flower Girls

When Justin Monger turned around for his first look on June 28, he expected to see his bride Amy smiling back at him. Instead, he got something even better: Amy and their two dogs, tails wagging, ready to celebrate.

Amy, 28, had been planning the surprise for months. She secretly coordinated with their dog sitter Natalie to bring 6-year-old Bernedoodle Everest and 11-year-old brindle mutt Leila to their Cincinnati wedding at Story Woods Park.

Justin, 30, had absolutely no clue. The couple had already hired Natalie to watch the dogs while they stayed at a hotel after the wedding, so when she came over earlier that week, Justin thought it was just a normal planning meeting.

It wasn't. Amy was actually giving Natalie special collars adorned with baby's breath for the dogs to wear as they walked down the aisle, matching the wedding's floral arrangements perfectly.

The coordination worked because the ceremony took place steps away from Amy's parents' house, where the reception was held. Justin and his groomsmen left home just as Natalie arrived, never suspecting she'd be packing up the dogs moments later.

During their first look, Amy shared handwritten promises with Justin, just as he had with her. Then she revealed the twist: Everest and Leila would be walking down the aisle as their flower girls.

Their close friend and neighbor Evan Brannon had the honor of walking both dogs down the aisle during the ceremony, serving double duty as ring bearer and dog escort.
