Canadian Donor Sends 65kg of Rice to Thai Kids

A newspaper article taped to a restaurant wall in Pattaya, Thailand sparked an act of kindness that will feed dozens of children for weeks.

After reading a Pattaya Mail story displayed at Krua Chokchai Restaurant, a Canadian donor contacted the restaurant to help local kids. The donor sent money to purchase 65 kilograms of jasmine rice for children cared for by the Human Help Network Foundation Thailand.

The Canadian had been moved by reading about the restaurant's previous charity work, including a visit to Ban Nam Sai School in Rayong where staff provided supplies to students. Owner and staff at Krua Chokchai have been organizing community initiatives since opening their doors more than five years ago.

The rice donation will go directly to vulnerable children who receive care, education support, and meals from the Human Help Network Foundation in Central Pattaya. For these kids, consistent access to nutritious food makes the difference between struggling and thriving.

Krua Chokchai Restaurant and Pattaya Good News served as the bridge, coordinating the donation between the Canadian supporter and the foundation. The handoff happened on March 5, which coincides with National Press Day in Thailand.
