Carbon County Awards $45K in Scholarships to Students

The Carbon County Community Foundation is handing out more than $45,000 in scholarships to help local high school seniors chase their dreams this year. Thanks to generous donors, students across Carbon County can now apply for financial support ranging from $500 to $8,000 for college, university, or trade programs.

The scholarships reflect years of community investment in young people. Some awards are open to any Carbon County student, while others target specific school districts based on donor wishes.

"Education is one of the most meaningful investments we can make in our community's future," said Sharon Alexander, the foundation's president. She emphasized how these scholarships represent neighbors supporting neighbors.

The application process is straightforward. Students have until March 1 to submit their materials through the foundation's website at cccfoundpa.org/scholarships, where they'll find eligibility details and requirements for each scholarship fund.

Winners will hear the good news in early May. The foundation will celebrate recipients at its Annual Grants and Scholarships Awards Celebration, and students will also be recognized during their school's senior awards program.

Since opening its doors in 2016, the Carbon County Community Foundation has awarded more than $1.7 million total in grants and scholarships. That money has touched hundreds of students, teachers, schools, and nonprofit organizations across the county.
