There's something magical about new beginnings, and a vibrant art exhibition in Hyderabad is capturing that spirit in the most beautiful way imaginable. Golden Horizon, a six-day art showcase running from January 8 to 14, brings together the creative visions of 14 accomplished artists who are celebrating life, renewal, and optimism through their work.

"Sankranti is an opportunity to welcome new beginnings," shares artist Ramani Mylavarapu, who is making her inspiring debut as an art curator for this special exhibition. Her vision for Golden Horizon perfectly captures the warmth and hope that comes with the harvest festival season, creating a canvas of celebration that radiates with color and renewed perspectives.

The exhibition is a feast for the senses, featuring 23 fresh artworks spanning multiple mediums including paintings, drawings, sculpture, and video art. What makes this showcase particularly special is its timing—nestled between New Year celebrations and the traditional Sankranti festival, it serves as a bridge between modern celebration and ancient traditions of gratitude and cyclical continuity.

The diversity of artistic expression on display is truly remarkable. Visitors will encounter mythology brought to life in the works of artists Sachin Jaltare and Anjani Reddy, while Ramesh Gurjala offers a fresh perspective with his innovative color schemes in Kalamkari works depicting Krishna, Vishnu, and Lakshmi. The renowned V Ramesh from Visakhapatnam beautifully captures the Sankranti spirit through an oil painting featuring an urli adorned with vibrant hibiscus flowers.

Adding to the exhibition's richness is a 27-year-old artwork by octogenarian master Thota Vaikuntam, showcasing his iconic depictions of Telangana women. Contemporary artist Bhaskar Rao Botcha contributes a meaningful Tulasi kota painting that weaves together his signature tree motif with deep spirituality, created while observing Ayyappa deeksha.

Ramani herself is showcasing works in acrylics, with an intentional focus on floral concepts. "Flowers symbolising life and renewal goes with the festive spirit," she explains warmly. Her own artistic journey is an inspiring story of self-discovery and determination. After her children grew up, she pursued her passion by studying for a Master of Fine Arts degree and even completed a course in contemporary art at the prestigious Slade School of Fine Art in London, demonstrating that it's never too late to follow your dreams.

The exhibition also features noteworthy contributions from HR Devulpalli and Sumantha Choudhary, who is presenting a bronze sculpture that adds dimensional beauty to the collection.
