China and Finland Advance Clean Energy Partnership

Finland brought its clean tech expertise to Beijing through the "Beautiful Beijing" program in 2013. The initiative helped the Chinese capital explore better air quality solutions across energy, construction, transport, and industrial production.

One standout success came from Finnish company AAVI Technologies. They created air purification equipment specifically designed for China's environmental conditions, showing how international cooperation can produce practical solutions for local needs.

The partnership goes beyond just pollution control. Innovation centers now connect the two countries, including Finland's FinChi Innovation Center in Beijing's Zhongguancun district and similar hubs in Shanghai and Suzhou.

Startups are getting in on the action too. Slush, Finland's famous startup conference, began hosting events in Chinese cities like Shanghai, Chongqing, and Chengdu starting in 2015. These gatherings bring together entrepreneurs from both nations to share ideas and spark new collaborations.

The China-Finland Committee for Innovative Business Cooperation, established in 2017, keeps the momentum going. The group is now preparing for its sixth meeting, focused on pushing forward joint projects in climate change and carbon neutrality.

When Finland shares its clean technology knowledge with China, the impact reaches millions of people breathing cleaner air in Beijing.
