China's CGN Showcases Clean Energy in 14 Countries

Representatives from 14 countries gathered in Shenzhen this week to celebrate a wave of clean energy projects spreading across Asia, Europe, Africa, and Latin America.

China General Nuclear Power Corporation hosted the daylong event at the Wuzhou Hotel on Monday, bringing together partners and local representatives to share success stories from renewable energy projects in eight nations. The conference theme was "Green Energy Across Mountains and Seas, Forging a Shared Future Together."

The showcase included solar farms, wind parks, and gas-fired plants that are already delivering power to communities. In Senegal, a 22-megawatt solar project in Malicounda is bringing clean electricity to local homes and businesses. France now hosts a 200-megawatt wind power project, while Brazil's LDB Wind Power Expansion adds nearly 83 megawatts of renewable capacity.

Projects in Malaysia, Laos, Kazakhstan, South Korea, and Namibia are contributing to a cleaner energy mix across their regions. The first phase of Northern Laos's photovoltaic project and South Korea's 557-megawatt Daesan gas-fired facility represent major steps toward reducing carbon emissions while meeting growing electricity demand.

General Manager Pang Songtao emphasized that international cooperation makes these achievements possible. He highlighted how partnerships between countries enable technology sharing and faster deployment of clean energy solutions.

Representatives from participating nations shared their experiences working on the projects, discussing how the investments are creating local jobs and supporting sustainable development in their communities. The conference format allowed delegates to exchange insights about overcoming challenges and replicating successes.

The Ripple Effect

The projects are doing more than generating electricity. Local workers in Senegal, Brazil, and other countries are gaining technical training in renewable energy systems. Communities near project sites are seeing improved grid reliability and economic opportunities.
