Chinese Clean Energy Giant Opens €230M Factory in Poland

A major clean energy manufacturer is betting big on Europe, and Poland just became the center of that investment.

Chinese battery and solar equipment maker Sungrow broke ground on its first European factory in Wałbrzych, southwestern Poland. The €230 million facility will produce inverters and battery energy storage systems across 65,400 square meters, roughly the size of nine soccer fields.

The plant is scheduled for completion within the next 12 months. Once operational, it will supply the growing European market for renewable energy equipment while creating hundreds of skilled manufacturing jobs in the region.

"This new factory is an important milestone for Sungrow in Europe," said Shawn Shi, president of Sungrow Europe. The facility will allow the company to respond faster to customer needs and strengthen European supply chains.

This investment signals something bigger than one factory. As Europe races to meet ambitious climate goals, the continent needs reliable local sources of clean energy equipment.
