ClassCover Brings 20 Jobs and Tech Fix to Irish Schools

The Sydney-based company is investing €3 million to launch its real-time substitute teacher booking platform in Ireland, starting with a Dublin pilot program in late August. The timing couldn't be better. Right now, many Irish schools rely on manual phone calls or WhatsApp groups to find substitute teachers, a system that's time-consuming, stressful, and doesn't always work. ClassCover's platform has spent over a decade perfecting a better way in Australia, where schools face similar challenges.

Over the next three years, ClassCover plans to bring 2,000 Irish schools onto the platform, representing almost half of all schools in the country. The company is hiring across sales, marketing, partnerships, and customer support roles to make it happen.

This isn't just about making life easier for principals. When schools can quickly find qualified substitute teachers, students get consistent learning instead of disrupted days. CEO Ben Grozier points out the natural connection between the two countries. "Ireland and Australia sharing a deep, historic bond" made the expansion feel right, he said. Through conversations with Irish educators, his team heard the same frustrations Australian schools were voicing years ago.

Grozier is realistic about what the platform can and can't do. "This platform won't fix the teacher supply crisis on its own," he acknowledged. But it will ensure that every available substitute teacher can actually be found by the schools desperately searching for them.

The Irish market has been calling out for this solution. The company tailored its approach specifically for Ireland after extensive research and discussions with local educators, ensuring the platform fits how Irish schools actually operate.

Ireland's reputation as home to one of Europe's best education systems makes it an exciting expansion opportunity for ClassCover as it builds its international presence beyond Australia.
