Connecticut Women's Club Raises Funds for 30-Mile Trail
A Connecticut fashion show just funded something that will bring joy to thousands: a 30-mile trail connecting communities from Norwalk to Danbury. The Wilton Woman's Club's 17th annual fundraiser proves that when neighbors come together, beautiful things happen.
A spring afternoon of fashion and friendship just turned into miles of connection for Connecticut residents.
The Wilton Woman's Club hosted its 17th annual Fashion Show Fundraiser in April, bringing together community members for an event that was equal parts style and heart. This year's proceeds support the Norwalk River Valley Trail, an ambitious project creating over 30 miles of connected pathway for walking, biking, and outdoor recreation.
The trail isn't just a nice idea. Several sections already exist, and local residents use them daily to exercise, connect with nature, and bump into neighbors outside.
"The NRVT is more than a trail. It's a common thread that brings together neighbors, families and communities to recreate and come together outdoors," said Andrea Gartner, the trail's executive director. She thanked the club for ensuring that current and future generations will enjoy these natural connections.

The event brought together the best of Wilton's community spirit. Club members modeled evening wear from The Plumed Serpent Bridal, while local businesses donated auction items and created stunning centerpieces. Whip Salon and Studio D Hair Salon volunteered their talents for hair and makeup.
Local businesses stepped up as sponsors too. Waveny LifeCare Network's Visiting Nurse & Hospice joined Toni Boucher as gold sponsors, while Merit Financial Advisors and several other businesses contributed at silver and bronze levels.
The Ripple Effect
This single afternoon of community gathering will create ripples far beyond Wilton. When the full trail connects Norwalk to Danbury, it will link multiple towns and countless families to outdoor spaces and each other. Kids will bike to new playgrounds, retirees will discover walking groups in neighboring communities, and nature lovers will explore 30 continuous miles of Connecticut beauty.
The Wilton Woman's Club has been creating these kinds of connections since 1966. Through six decades, they've proven that women supporting women and communities supporting neighbors creates lasting change.
One fashion show, countless future memories on the trail.
