Crawley Celebrates Diversity with Free Community Festival

When the Mayor of Crawley stepped up to open UNITY: Crawley Together on September 12th, she had a simple message: this town's greatest strength is how its people come together.

Hundreds of residents from across Crawley gathered in Memorial Gardens for a free morning celebrating the diverse cultures, faiths, and backgrounds that make their community special. The event brought together neighbors who might not otherwise meet, all united by a shared belief in respect and inclusion.

Mayor Marion Ayling set the tone in her opening speech. "What defines Crawley is the way we come together," she told the crowd, highlighting the friendships built across communities and the kindness shown in difficult times.

Local artists Victoria Boltwood and Yesha performed live music while dancers from Niruththiyalam School of Dance filled the gardens with vibrant movement. Members of Crawley Writers Circle shared readings, and community and faith leaders spoke about why unity matters now more than ever.
