Dad Breaks Stroller Mile Record at 4:17 in Cleveland

Stephen Biebelhausen crossed the finish line at Cleveland's Guardian Mile race on Saturday nearly nine seconds faster than the Guinness World Record, all while pushing his daughter Blake in a stroller. The moment he stopped running, he kissed her head and gave her his medal.

The 30-year-old ER doctor at Cleveland Clinic wasn't planning to break a world record that day. He knew the existing record existed, but when he hit the halfway mark and realized it was within reach, he found another gear.

What makes this achievement even more special is that Blake, just one year old, seemed to think she was doing the running herself. "She absolutely loves running and will kick her legs, put her arms up like a roller coaster and squeal in joy," Biebelhausen told The Washington Post.

Race commentators on the live stream couldn't help but notice Blake's infectious enthusiasm. "Look at how much fun this baby is having!" one remarked as father and daughter flew past.

This isn't a one-time stunt. Biebelhausen and Blake run together three to four times a week, making it part of their regular routine. For this dad, breaking records is just a bonus to quality time with his daughter.

Biebelhausen ran competitively in college but never reached professional levels. Now, years later and with a tiny passenger along for the ride, he's achieved something most elite runners never will.
