Volunteers assembling sandwiches in a long line at Texas stadium for world record attempt

Dallas Charity Needs 1,000+ to Break Sandwich World Record

😊 Feel Good

A Dallas charity is rallying volunteers to reclaim their Guinness World Record by making over 14,520 sandwiches in just 70 minutes. Every sandwich made will feed someone in need across North Texas.

More than 1,000 volunteers are needed to help a Dallas charity win back a world record they lost to Australia and do something amazing for their community at the same time.

On June 13, 2026, Tango Charities will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest line of sandwiches at Globe Life Field in Arlington. The team needs to make more than 14,520 sandwiches in just over an hour to reclaim the title.

This isn't Tango Charities' first rodeo. In 2022, over 1,000 volunteers showed up to help the organization set the original record with 10,852 sandwiches. The event transformed Texas Live! into a sandwich-making powerhouse, with volunteers inside and outside the entertainment venue working side by side.

But in 2025, an Australian bread company and nonprofit team made 14,520 sandwiches stretching nearly 1.1 miles, snatching the record away. Now the Dallas-based charity wants it back.

Former Fox 4 Good Day anchor Hanna Battah, who left Dallas for ABC News in late 2025, will return to emcee the event. "It's time to take back our Guinness World Record, and I hope you'll join!" she shared on Facebook.

The event is completely free and open to all ages. Doors open at 8 a.m., with sandwich making kicking off at 9 a.m. The official Guinness attempt runs from 9:20 to 10:30 a.m.

The Ripple Effect

Every sandwich made during this record attempt will go directly to people experiencing food insecurity across North Texas. What starts as a fun community gathering transforms into thousands of meals for neighbors who need them most.

The combination of breaking a world record while feeding the community has proven to be a powerful draw. The 2022 event brought together families, students, coworkers, and strangers who became a unified team with a shared mission.

After the attempt, volunteers can celebrate at Troy's in Texas Live! starting at 11 a.m. for the Guinness announcement and live music. Free parking will be available in Lot B, with entry on Randol Mill next to Texas Live!

Spots are still available, but volunteers need to RSVP at tangocharities.org/guinness to secure their place in what could be North Texas' most delicious world record.
