Dallas Woman Spends $70 to See Military Boyfriend 30 Minutes

When Sara Young heard her long-distance boyfriend had a layover at Dallas airport, she didn't hesitate to buy a $70 plane ticket she'd never use.

The 21-year-old Dallas resident knew it was her only chance to see her active-duty military boyfriend for months. With just a 30-minute layover, there wasn't time to leave the airport, so she got creative.

Young bought the ticket purely to get through security. She never boarded the flight, but those precious 30 minutes were worth every penny.

"I have no idea when the next time will be," Young says. The couple met at the Dr. Pepper factory in Waco, Texas and have been together for a little over six months.

On February 6, Young shared a TikTok video of their reunion that quickly went viral. The simple clip of them hugging amassed over 2 million views from people who understood the sacrifice of military relationships.

"It was an absolute coincidence that he had a layover in Dallas," Young says. "But regardless, it was such a blessing!"
