$50K Wedding Ring Lost on Trail Finds Its Way Home

A Vancouver woman thought her $50,000 wedding ring was gone forever after losing it on a hiking trail, but a stranger's honesty and sharp-eyed police work brought it back to her finger in less than a week.

The panic started on August 15 when the woman realized her three-carat diamond wedding ring had slipped off somewhere along the Pacific Spirit Trail in Vancouver. She immediately called police, and a North Vancouver RCMP officer who happened to be helping out University RCMP that day took down detailed notes about the precious piece.
