Drexel Honors 100+ Students for Academic Excellence

Drexel University's College of Arts and Sciences turned its annual Honors Day into a celebration of student excellence on May 21, honoring more than 100 accomplished undergraduates.

The awards recognized students across 16 departments, from biology and physics to philosophy and communications. Each honoree stood out for exceptional work in academics, research, community service, mentorship, or personal character.

"This has easily become one of my favorite traditions here at the college because we get to celebrate the academic achievements of our most accomplished students," said Dean David Brown. He praised the students for proving their dedication through scholarship and research.

Students like Amina Ibrahim, who received the Charles E. Etting Scholarship, and Lourdes Akirtha Stephan Raj, who earned multiple physics awards, exemplify the caliber of talent at the college. The honors span traditional academic excellence and recognize students taking action toward positive change in their communities.

Nine students shared the General Electric College Bowl Endowed Scholarship, showcasing the depth of talent across the college. Awards also celebrated specialized achievements, from the Literature Essay Prize won by Blaze Fogle to the Science, Technology and Society prize earned by Arianna January and Suhas Karthik Ghatti.
