Dutch Rider Willem Greve Wins Third World Cup of Season

Dutch showjumper Willem Greve rode last and rode best, steering his trusted stallion Grandorado to a stunning victory at the FEI Jumping World Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden. The dramatic win showcased the power of patience and the bond between a rider and his 15-year-old partner.

Eight elite combinations made it to the jump-off of the challenging 1.60-meter course. Kim Emmen set the pace early with her mare Imagine, posting a lightning-fast clear round in 42.65 seconds that seemed unbeatable.

The Swedish crowd erupted when hometown favorite Malin Baryard-Johnsson entered the ring with her 18-year-old mare H&M Indiana. The pair delivered a flawless performance, but their time of 42.90 seconds left them just shy of the lead in third place.

As the final rider, Greve faced enormous pressure walking into an arena still buzzing with excitement. But the roaring crowd only fueled his determination.
