Dutch Students Can Visit Japan Fully Funded in 2026

Dutch university students just got an exciting opportunity to spend a week in Japan without paying a cent for travel, accommodation, or food.

The MIRAI Program is offering fully funded exchange trips to the Netherlands students who want to explore Japanese society while studying either diplomacy and security policy or science and technology. Everything from international flights to daily meals is covered, making the experience accessible to students regardless of their financial situation.

The program runs in two sessions. Students interested in diplomacy and international relations can join the December 2 to 8, 2026 session, while those passionate about science and technology can participate from January 20 to 26, 2027. Both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to apply.

Before traveling, students participate in mandatory online sessions where they meet Japanese students, attend expert lectures, and prepare for their visit. The real magic happens during the seven days in Japan, where participants visit universities, research institutions, and local communities while engaging in workshops and cultural experiences.
