Egypt Launches AI Campus to Build 100 Startups by 2030

Egypt is building something big for the next generation of tech innovators.

Orange Egypt, Paragon Adeer, and Plug and Play just signed a partnership to launch the AI Campus at Sumou Boulevard in New Cairo. This marks the first dedicated artificial intelligence hub of its kind in the Middle East and Africa.

The 500-acre campus will give startups everything they need to grow. Orange Egypt is installing 5G networks, Internet of Things sensors, and smart communication systems across the entire facility. Entrepreneurs will work in a fully connected environment designed to turn ideas into real products.

The partnership's crown jewel is the AI 100 program, a four-year initiative with an ambitious goal: support the creation of 100 AI startups by 2030. Participants will receive specialized training, technical workshops, and investment preparation. They'll also get direct access to Plug and Play's global network, connecting Egyptian innovators to international markets.

The signing ceremony took place at the Grand Egyptian Museum, with officials from Egypt's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in attendance. The initiative supports Egypt's Vision 2030, the country's plan to strengthen its position as a regional technology leader.

Mohamed Shebl, Chief Business Officer at Orange Egypt, emphasized that the company isn't just building infrastructure. They're creating pathways for startups to compete on a global stage, not just a regional one.

Bedeir Rizk, CEO at Paragon Adeer, called the campus "a watershed moment for Egypt" where innovation meets sustainability. Kareema El Hakim from Plug and Play Egypt highlighted how the campus will help establish Egypt as the region's AI hub by fostering collaboration and global connections.
