Egyptian Startup Raises $2.8M to Help Online Merchants Grow
Fincart just secured $2.8 million to help Africa's e-commerce businesses manage everything from deliveries to customer service in one place. The Egyptian startup is solving a problem that's been costing merchants time and money across the continent.
Running an online business in Africa often means juggling dozens of different apps just to ship products, track payments, and talk to customers. Egyptian startup Fincart just raised $2.8 million to change that with a single platform that does it all.
Founded in 2023 by Mostafa Masry and Nihal Ali, Fincart started by helping merchants track deliveries and manage cash-on-delivery payments. But after talking with hundreds of business owners, they realized the real problem was bigger: merchants were drowning in disconnected software that made running their businesses needlessly complicated.
Their solution puts shipping, customer support, payments, and even short-term financing into one AI-powered dashboard. Over 450 merchants have already signed up, processing nearly $20 million worth of sales through the platform.
Launch Africa and Antler MENAP co-led the funding round, with seven other investors joining in. The timing makes sense because Egypt's e-commerce market is expected to hit $20 billion by 2031, creating huge opportunities for companies that make online selling easier.

What makes Fincart different is how it was built. "Everything we build starts with sitting down with merchants and understanding where they're losing time, money, or customers," said co-founder Nihal Ali. Instead of forcing business owners to become tech experts, Fincart gives them a single control panel where everything just works together.
The platform connects to more than 40 shipping providers and offers instant cash advances when merchants need working capital. Subscription plans range from about $31 to $142 monthly, depending on which features businesses need.
The Ripple Effect
Fincart's growth is creating positive change beyond just one company's success. By simplifying operations for small and medium-sized businesses, the platform is helping entrepreneurs across Egypt focus on what matters most: growing their companies and serving customers. When local businesses thrive, they create jobs, serve their communities better, and strengthen the entire regional economy.
The startup plans to use the new funding to expand its team, improve the AI features, and build partnerships across Egypt before expanding to other African and Middle Eastern countries starting in 2027. For investors like Launch Africa's Lina Kacyem, Fincart represents a bet on Africa's commerce future: "The organic, referral-driven growth tells you everything about product-market fit."
Making technology work for people instead of the other way around is always a win worth celebrating.
