Elon Athletics Raises Record $856K in One Day

When Elon University's athletics program wrapped up its 13th annual Elon Day earlier this month, the numbers told a powerful story about what happens when a community rallies behind its student athletes.

The department raised a record-breaking $856,307 in just one day. More than 900 donors stepped up, including 185 former student athletes who remembered their own playing days and 120 parents of current athletes who know firsthand the dedication their kids bring to competition.

The fundraising total jumped 17% compared to last year's event. Every single one of Elon's 17 sports teams and programs received support, ensuring that contributions will directly impact competitive excellence across the board.

Director of Athletics Jenn Strawley captured the moment perfectly. "The Elon family is truly extraordinary, and initiatives like Elon Day showcase the power of this incredible community," she said, thanking supporters for their transformational impact on student athletes, coaches, and staff.

The athletics success was part of an even bigger story unfolding across campus. University-wide, Elon Day generated 6,214 gifts totaling a record $3.58 million, supporting 276 different funds and initiatives that touch every corner of student life.
