Enugu Students Get Free Uniforms at Smart Green School

Students at the Smart Green School in Igbo-Eze South jumped with excitement as they received brand new uniforms, a gift that means no child will be left out because their family can't afford school clothes.

The Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board delivered the uniforms on July 16th to the Umulolo-Ovoko Campus. Local chairman Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze watched as students tried on their new clothes, many for the first time.

"It was a deeply fulfilling moment to stand before these young learners and speak to them about the value of education, discipline and the limitless opportunities that lie ahead of them," Ukwueze said. For many families in the area, the cost of school uniforms can be a barrier that keeps kids at home instead of in the classroom.

The chairman reminded students that their uniforms represent more than just clothing. They're symbols of Governor Peter Mbah's commitment to give every child the same shot at success, no matter where they come from or how much money their parents make.

When kids have what they need to attend school with dignity, entire communities benefit. These uniforms eliminate one more obstacle between children and their education, letting them focus on learning instead of worrying about what they're wearing.
