Estonia Unemployment Hits Lowest Q2 Rate Since 2023

Estonia just delivered some of the best employment news the small Baltic nation has seen in years. The country's unemployment rate fell to 6.6% in the second quarter of 2026, a full 1.2 percentage points lower than the same period last year and the lowest spring reading since 2023.

Young Estonians aged 15 to 24 saw particularly encouraging progress. Their unemployment rate fell from 25.4% to 22.4%, giving more young people the chance to start careers and build financial independence. Workers aged 25 to 49 experienced a drop from 6.7% to 5.3%, while those 50 to 74 saw rates decline from 5.6% to 4.8%.
