EV Charging Depot Hits 350,000 Sessions with 98% Uptime
A commercial electric vehicle charging facility at LAX just passed 350,000 successful charging sessions, proving that reliable large-scale EV infrastructure isn't just possible—it's already here. The depot serves everything from delivery vans to heavy trucks with round-the-clock service and near-perfect reliability.
When Zeem Solutions opened its electric vehicle charging depot at Los Angeles International Airport, skeptics wondered if commercial EV infrastructure could handle the demands of real-world fleet operations. Five years and 350,000 charging sessions later, the answer is a resounding yes.
The facility has become one of the highest-throughput charging sites in the United States, serving light-duty vans, medium-duty trucks, and massive Class 8 vehicles all at the same location. In just the first four months of 2025, the depot delivered over 75,000 charging sessions and dispensed 3.2 million kilowatt-hours of electricity.
What makes this milestone remarkable isn't just the volume. It's the 98% charger uptime that keeps commercial fleets running on schedule, day after day.
"Every one of those sessions represents a fleet vehicle that needed to get back on the road on time," says Rick Eckert, Vice President of Operations at Zeem Solutions. The company maintains reliability through pre-scheduled charging sessions and 24/7 valets who rotate charged vehicles, perform visual inspections, and handle maintenance needs.

The depot includes parking, security, and cleaning services, treating commercial EV charging as a full-service operation rather than just plugging in vehicles. This approach has given fleet operators the confidence to expand their electric vehicle operations without worrying about downtime.
The Ripple Effect
The environmental impact of 350,000 charging sessions adds up fast. The depot has helped avoid an estimated 5.6 million kilograms of CO2 emissions, equivalent to taking hundreds of gas-powered vehicles off the road for an entire year or powering more than 1,100 average American homes.
But the bigger ripple extends to proving that commercial electrification works at scale. Fleet operators nationwide have watched to see if EVs could handle demanding schedules and tight deadlines. Zeem's success at LAX provides the real-world proof that removes one of the biggest barriers to commercial fleet electrification.
Founder and CEO Paul Gioupis calls this phase "Zeem 2.0," taking lessons learned from five years of operation and bringing that expertise directly to customer fleet sites. The company is already expanding, with new depots planned for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Long Beach, plus additional facilities in development across the country.
Commercial transportation accounts for a significant portion of America's emissions, and fleet operators have been cautious about making the electric switch. Now they have a working model that demonstrates reliability isn't just a promise but a proven reality happening thousands of times each week.
