Evansville's Hope Dot Com Gets Boost from Local Business

Cathy Myers started her mission the simplest way possible: she'd hop on her bicycle and check on people experiencing homelessness in Evansville, Indiana.

That humble routine has transformed into Hope Dot Com, an organization that now connects hundreds of people to meals, clothing, housing, healthcare, and the kind of support that changes lives. This month, Wayne's Appliance selected the nonprofit as the recipient of their 2026 Giveback Project, providing crucial funding as demand reaches record levels.

Myers and her team meet people where they are, offering everything from sleeping bags and backpacks to haircuts and healthcare connections. But what makes Hope Dot Com different isn't just what they provide. It's how they see the people who walk through their doors.

"They still have value, even though they might be homeless at this moment," Myers says. Sometimes the most powerful thing they offer isn't a meal or a bed. Sometimes people just need someone to listen.

The numbers tell one story: Hope Dot Com has served more people in recent weeks than ever before. But Myers measures success differently, in the transformed lives that ripple out from temporary help into permanent change.
