Ex-Teacher Opens Computer Center in Rural Badaun, India

A postgraduate who spent years bouncing between exam prep and teaching jobs just opened a computer training center that's filling a crucial gap in rural India.

Rohit Yadav launched Krishna Computer Institute in Badaun, a municipal town where quality computer education was hard to find. After working at similar institutes and seeing firsthand what students needed, he decided to build something better in his own community.

The decision came after Yadav realized formal employment offered little security, especially in competitive fields. Armed with a computer science degree and teaching experience, he saw an opportunity to create stable work while serving students who deserved more.

The center opened just over a month ago with two instructors and about 24 students. Courses range from basic computer literacy to government-recognized certifications for clerical and administrative jobs, with flexible class times for school kids and working adults alike.

Yadav funded the institute through personal savings and support from the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan program, a state initiative helping young entrepreneurs. Unlike typical budget setups, he invested in advanced computers that can support future courses as the center grows.

Why This Inspires

The early results show how much this matters. Students who arrived barely able to use a mouse are now confident navigating software and design programs within weeks.

One design student's progress particularly struck Yadav when they told him, "Earlier, I did not know this at all; now I feel comfortable working on it." That transformation is exactly why he took the leap.

Yadav knows that digital skills are no longer optional luxuries but basic requirements for employment. In his view, understanding computers, AI, and data systems will soon be as fundamental as reading and writing.

His plans stay grounded in steady growth rather than rapid expansion. He wants to improve teaching quality, expand capacity gradually, and eventually offer free courses to some students who can't afford them.

For now, the focus is simple: build something dependable that actually serves Badaun district's students. After years of uncertainty, Yadav is creating the stability he once searched for while opening doors for others along the way.
