Fall River Firefighters Save Cat in 20-Minute Rescue

Fall River firefighters proved Tuesday that every life matters when they rescued a frightened cat from a burning apartment building on Meadow Street.

The call came in around 1:30 p.m. for smoke filling the hallways at 52 Meadow Street, a three-unit home. Flames had broken out between the second and third floors, creating a dangerous situation that threatened to spread to neighboring properties.
