Skovronsky expects the pill to appeal to people who've been hesitant to start treatment. "Maybe they're worried about an injection not fitting into their life," he says. For patients wondering if their condition is "serious enough," a daily pill feels like a smaller first step.
The company has been manufacturing these pills for months and expects strong supply. Pharmacies should have them on shelves within two weeks.
