Firefighters Rescue Ducklings from Wisconsin Storm Drain

A chorus of tiny chirps coming from underground caught the attention of neighbors in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, and sparked an adorable rescue mission Saturday afternoon.

The Beaver Dam Fire Department got an unusual call to South Lincoln Avenue: a storm drain wouldn't stop chirping. When firefighters Jonathan Rash and Joey Chiuchiolo arrived, they found a mother duck pacing anxiously near the grate. Her babies had fallen through the openings into the drain below.
