Down seven strokes heading into the final day, the Florida State women's golf team refused to give up and stormed back to win the Folds of Honor Collegiate in dramatic fashion.

The Seminoles fired a five-under 283 in Wednesday's final round at American Dunes Golf Club in Grand Haven, Michigan, finishing at three-under for the tournament. They narrowly edged out Texas A&M to capture their first team title at this prestigious event.

"I am extremely proud of the way we played this week," said head coach Amy Bond. "We got better as the tournament went on, and today the team showed a lot of grit."

The back nine turned into a nail-biter, with four teams tied for first at one point before Florida State pulled away. Leading the charge was sophomore Haruhi Nakatani, who opened her final round with back-to-back birdies and added three more throughout the day, including a clutch putt on the 17th hole that moved her into a tie for the individual lead.

On the par-5 18th hole, Nakatani's approach shot sailed long of the green. But the sophomore stayed calm under pressure, getting up and down with a four-foot par putt that sealed both her first career victory and the team championship.

Junior Alexandra Gazzoli delivered her best round when it mattered most, carding a two-under 70 that included an eagle on the sixth hole and a birdie on 18. Preseason All-American Sophia Fullbrook added steady play with an even-par 72, earning a top-10 finish with her one-under tournament total.
