Florida Volunteers Pack $9M in Aid for 135,000 Venezuelans

In just 30 days, a warehouse in South Florida has become ground zero for one of the most efficient humanitarian operations delivering hope to Venezuela.

Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) is asking for volunteers through Friday to help sort and pack aid boxes as their Venezuela relief effort hits a major milestone. Since launching one month ago, the organization has delivered 52,345 family necessity kits to 135,185 people across Venezuelan communities.

The numbers tell an incredible story of coordination and care. Twenty planes, 25 shipping containers, and 5 military landing crafts have transported roughly 938 metric tons of supplies valued at more than $8.9 million.

Volunteers work from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, taking a lunch break at noon. Their tasks include packing boxes and sorting pallets that will soon reach families in need. Lines have died down recently, making walk-ins easier, though volunteers can still register in advance through GEM's website.

On July 20 alone, the team delivered 66 pallets containing 4,290 kits to 10,725 people in the communities of Mamo and Caraballeda. For 23 consecutive days, GEM has maintained distribution operations at two sites in La Guaira, partnering with I Love Venezuela Foundation and local partner Cáritas Venezuela.

The work continues this week with distributions scheduled for two additional La Guaira sites, including Mapa Mariche and El Palmar Oeste in Caraballeda.

What started as an emergency response has turned into a testament to what organized compassion can achieve. Each volunteer who shows up to pack a box becomes part of a supply chain delivering dignity to thousands of families. The partnership between American volunteers, Venezuelan foundations, and local organizations shows how international cooperation can cut through red tape to reach people who need help most.

Every kit packed in South Florida becomes a lifeline in Venezuela, proving that distance doesn't diminish the power of caring neighbors.
