Women in Vincennes can get comprehensive health screenings at zero cost next month, thanks to Good Samaritan's annual wellness initiative that removes financial barriers to preventive care.

The Women's Wellness Fair returns Tuesday, August 11th at Highland Woods Community Center, offering two convenient time slots: early morning from 7 to 10 a.m. and evening from 4 to 6 p.m. The flexible schedule means working women don't have to choose between their health and their paycheck.

Good Samaritan is providing free blood pressure checks, pulse oximetry, bone density scans, colorectal screening kits to take home, and comprehensive lab work. The lab panel includes blood sugar testing, cholesterol levels, and kidney function assessments that typically cost hundreds of dollars at regular doctor visits.

For the most accurate lab results, participants are encouraged to fast for 10 to 12 hours before their appointment, though it's not required. That means an early morning screening after skipping breakfast, or an evening slot after a light lunch.
