French Solar Carport Installs in One Day, No Foundation Needed
A French company just solved one of solar power's biggest headaches: complicated installation. Their new solar carport goes up in a single day without any digging or foundation work.
Installing solar panels usually means weeks of construction, heavy equipment, and tearing up your driveway. But French company Visionpark just changed the game with a solar carport that two people can set up in one day.
The secret is surprisingly simple. Their new Atlas carport is made from precast concrete that's heavy enough to hold itself down. No digging foundations, no ground anchors, no massive construction crew required.
"Our goal is to offer a genuine energy station that is delivered pre-equipped and can be installed in a single day by two technicians," says Armand Teolis, who founded Visionpark. The company manufactures everything in France and delivers the structures ready to go.
The carports come in three sizes that generate between 3 and 15 kilowatts of power. That's enough to charge your electric car, power your home, or both. They reach heights up to 4 meters, so you can actually park underneath them.
What makes these carports especially practical is what comes with them. Customers can add an electric vehicle charger, battery storage up to 20 kilowatt hours, and an energy management system. Everything arrives pre-wired and ready to connect.

Visionpark designed the structures to meet strict European safety standards called Eurocodes. They also earned a French technical assessment for innovative construction systems, covering both the carport structure and the solar mounting system.
The company partnered with French solar panel maker Voltec Solar and developed a custom aluminum mounting system just for these carports. This keeps the supply chain local and supports French manufacturing.
The Ripple Effect
This innovation could remove one of the biggest barriers to home solar adoption: the hassle factor. When installation drops from weeks to hours, and you don't need to excavate your property, solar power becomes accessible to far more homeowners.
Visionpark already proved the concept works at larger scale. In 2024, they launched concrete carports for commercial parking lots that cover up to eight spaces. Installation crews can set up 300 to 500 square meters per day.
The Atlas range launches in January 2027, giving homeowners a cleaner energy option that doesn't require turning their property into a construction zone.
Solar power just got a whole lot simpler.
