Freshman Legend Glasker Leads BYU to Historic Top-10 Win

When No. 8 BYU faced No. 2 Notre Dame at LaVell Edwards Stadium, it marked the first time two top-10 teams had ever met there. And local talent made sure the home team came out on top.

True freshman Legend Glasker from Lehi stole the show with 66 receiving yards and a team-high 75 all-purpose yards. The young receiver has been on fire all season, leading BYU with 24 catches for 444 yards through six games.

But it was his clutch plays when the pressure was highest that sealed the win. Trailing 7-10 in the second quarter, Glasker caught a pass and turned it into a 19-yard gain that set up the go-ahead touchdown.

When BYU fell behind again in the fourth quarter, Glasker answered the call once more. On 2nd-and-10, he hauled in a 26-yard reception that brought the ball to Notre Dame's 15-yard line and led directly to the game-winning score.

Glasker wasn't the only local hero on the field. Former Skyridge standout Tausili Akana leads BYU's entire team in both tackles-for-loss and sacks from his defensive line position.

Lehi resident Bott Mulitalo, a freshman from Lone Peak, started on the offensive line and delivered key blocks throughout the game. Former American Fork stars Hunter Clegg and Bodie Schoonover both serve as team co-captains and combined for five tackles against the Fighting Irish.

The Ripple Effect

This wasn't just a win for BYU. It was a testament to the strength of local high school football programs in Utah County that are developing players ready for the biggest stages in college sports.

These young athletes prove that small-town talent can compete with anyone when given the chance. Glasker is now the only Big 12 true freshman with multiple games of five or more receptions this season.

The victory keeps BYU's perfect season alive and shows what's possible when local communities invest in their young athletes.
