Frisco Gala Raised $100K for Childhood Cancer Families

When Leia Hunt Toellner survived childhood cancer twice, she turned her experience into a lifeline for other families facing the same battle.

Her nonprofit, Leia's Kids, is hosting its second annual Hope in the Kingdom gala on October 16 in Frisco. The fairytale-themed evening brings together a community determined to help families when they need it most.

Toellner was diagnosed with retinoblastoma at just 2 years old. Years later, she founded Leia's Kids to provide financial assistance to families affected by childhood cancer, covering critical needs like groceries, gas for hospital trips, and childcare while parents stay by their child's bedside.

The inaugural gala last year proved the power of community. More than $100,000 was raised in a single evening, money that has already helped families pay bills they couldn't afford and create joyful memories during incredibly difficult times.

This year's Royal Ball promises another magical night at Verona Villa. Guests will enjoy dinner and dancing while hearing directly from young cancer warriors and their families about what this support means to them.

Princess Marygold, a childhood cancer survivor character created by Toellner herself, will make a special appearance. Guests are encouraged to wear black-tie attire with royal purple accents, the signature color representing childhood cancer awareness.
